Risk ranking

Learn about MPI’s comparitive risk ranking process, which is being developed to manage both chemical and microbiological food safety risks.

Risk ranking or comparative risk assessment is the process of comparing risks and ordering or grading them in some way.

Developing a risk ranking method

The MPI Food Safety Science Group (the Group) has developed a single metric of risk ranking that can be applied to both chemical and microbiological hazards. This is an ongoing, iterative process as methods and experience develops. The work is not restricted to actual ranking of food safety issues and is pertinent to the varied risk-ranking needs of MPI
