  • New Consultation: Proposed changes to Animal Products Act Cost Recovery

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking feedback from interested parties on 4 proposed changes to its cost recovery arrangements under the Animal Products (Dairy Industry Fees, Charges and Levies) Regulations 2015 and the Animal Products (Fees, Charges and Levies) Regulations 2007.

The proposed changes in the consultation document are:
-the introduction of new cost recovery arrangements to support new requirements for the sale of raw milk to consumers
-an amendment to clarify that MPI is able to charge for issuing export declarations for all types of infant formula products
-an amendment to correct (reduce) export levies for certain birds
-an amendment that provides the Director-General with greater flexibility to reduce the required reporting frequency of animal processing numbers if appropriate.
