The organisations listed here represent the honey and bee industry in New Zealand.

National Beekeepers Association of New Zealand (NBA)

The NBA is the national representative organisation for the beekeeping industry. It provides advice to beekeepers and advocates on a range of issues affecting beekeepers.

The NBA manages an agency which administers the National American Foulbrood Pest Management Strategy and has a website dedicated to this.

New Zealand Honey Packers and Exporters Association Inc.

This association is affiliated with the NBA and represents the interests of commercial beekeepers. You can find contacts for the association on the NBA website under Contact us. Look in the list of clubs and specialty groups.

The Federated Farmers Bee Industry Group (FFBees)

This industry group, primarily within Federated Farmers, represents commercial beekeepers and acts as an advocate on any issue that is likely to affect the viability of the beekeeping business.

Bee Products Standards Council

The council provides a consultative forum for the bee products industry and government with the aim of developing technical standards for the honey industry. It is comprised of representatives from the NBA, FFBees, the Honey Packers and Exporters Association and MPI.
